CHD 118 - Language Arts for Young Children

(3 credits) Presents techniques and methods for encouraging the development of language and perceptional skills in children. Stresses improvement of vocabulary, speech, and methods to stimulate discussion. Surveys children’s literature, examines elements of quality storytelling and story reading, and stresses the use of audio-visual materials.

Prerequisite(s): Student must be eligible for ENG 111 or ENG 111/EDE 11
