Early Childhood Development (636) Associate of Applied Science Degree

|
Purpose: This degree is designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to work in early childhood education programs. The program brings classroom theory and practical experiences together. Students will be placed in a coordinated internship in an appropriate school or childcare center to gain supervised field experience.
Articulation: Several senior institutions in Virginia have agreed to accept this degree in its totality for entrance into programs that may lead to public school Early Childhood Teacher Licensure (PreK-Grade 3 and/or Early Childhood Special Education) in Virginia. Students interested in early childhood pathways to teacher licensure should speak with an Early Childhood Development (CHD) advisor or Program Head.
