The Healthcare Technician (Nurse Aide) program prepares students to render direct patient care as entry-level nurse aides in a variety of health services facilities. This program prepares students to take the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) exam in Virginia.

This program is designed to prepare graduates for industry certification and immediate career mobility into entry-level healthcare teams.

SDV 101 - Orientation to (1 credit)
ENG 111 - College Composition I (3 credits)
EMS 100 - CPR for Healthcare Providers (1 credit)
HCT 101 - Health Care Technician I (3 credits)
HCT 102 - Health Care Technician II (3 credits)
HCT 110 - Therapeutic Communication in the Health Care Setting (3 credits)
HCT 196 - On-Site Training (1 credit)
PSY 230 - Developmental Psychology (3 credits) or
HLT 228 - Introduction to Public Health (3 credits)
