The Administration of Justice Career Studies Certificate is the second of two certificates that are part of the Thomas Nelson’s involvement in the State of Virginia VCCS G3, Get Skilled, Get a Job, Give Back Initiative Grant Program. The career studies certificate is designed to prepare students for an entry level position in the criminal justice field and to provide promotional opportunities for individuals currently working the field. This curriculum provides expanded foundational knowledge of the criminal justice system.

Certificate Requirements

MTH 130 - Fundamentals of Reasoning (Replaces MTH 120) (3 credits) or
MTH 154 - Quantitative Reasoning (3 credits) or
MTH 155 - Statistical Reasoning (Replaces MTH 157) (3 credits)
ADJ 211 - Criminal Law, Evidence & Procedures I (3 credits)
ADJ 105 - The Juvenile Justice System (3 credits)
— xx3 - Humanities/Fine Arts (3 credits)
ADJ 229 - Law Enforcement and the Community (3 credits)
