Liberal Arts, Specialization in Music (648-04) Associate of Arts Degree for Students Attending Part-Time


Purpose: The Associate of Arts Liberal Arts curriculum in Music offers an emphasis in music performance. The Associate of Arts degree curriculum may be used by students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music or Music Education.

Program or Graduation Requirements: Applied music students: Tuition fees and studio fees are payable to the College. Not all instruments are available for applied study; please contact the department with questions. Applied proficiency requirements must be met in order for students to advance to the 200-level of applied music courses.

World Language Competency: A core requirement for majors in the liberal arts programs at Thomas Nelson and at most four-year schools is competency in a world language through the 200 level. Liberal Arts students are strongly encouraged to enroll in a world language in their first semester and to complete all required world language courses before transfer. Students who completed two or more years of world language in high school may be eligible for advanced course placement at Thomas Nelson. Please check with your advisor.

1Students who studied World Languages in high school may be eligible to have one or more World Language course requirements waived. Students must makeup those credits so that they can earn the total credits required for the program.
