Purpose: With the rapid growth in the fields of electrical and electronic engineering and communications there is a steady demand for qualified technicians and an ongoing need for trained personnel to meet this demand. The knowledge and skills acquired by graduates in this program provide many pathways for entry-level positions as well as continuing education.
Applied degrees (AAA/AAS) are designed to prepare students for entry into the workforce. Students interested in pursuing transfer options should consult with a program advisor of early in their educational careers.

Articulation Agreement: Students who are interested in transferring to Hunting Ingalls Industries to continue the AAS Electronics Technology plan should meet with Academic Advising early to determine and discuss requirements. Old Dominion University also offers the opportunity to transfer into their AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology (941) to BS Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology (ODU Articulation) 2021-2024 program.
