EMS 157 - Advanced Life Support - Trauma Care
(3 credits) Continues the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services Intermediate and/or Paramedic curricula. Utilizes techniques which will allow the student to utilize the assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement the treatment plan for the trauma patient. Additional course fee applies.
Prerequisite(s): Current EMT certification, EMS 151 , EMS 152 , EMS 153 , (EMS 154 or EMS 155 ) and EMS 170 . Corequisite(s): EMS 159 , EMS 172 and EMS 173 .
Lecture: 2 hours
Lab: 2 hours
Total: 4 hours per week
